We should all be familiar with the French Maid. The Old Maid is no more, undead, yes. She has become International. She is disguised in her new form. Ever so loyal, Well-To-Do and delighted to get the job done. She’s eager to please.

This is the New Maid. One of her usual routines goes like this:

The New Maid walks into a dirty kitchen. She walks right past a Man, Tinto, as he sits drinking a cup of tea and reading a Newspaper.

The sink is full of dirty dishes. She shakes her head at the sight but quickly gets to work.

She smoothes on with a nice tug over her hands latex rubber gloves before she handles any dish. With her protected hands she picks up dish after dish, flinging each and every one of the fine china and crystal into the trash basket. Sometimes The New Maid makes her aim as she tosses the dishes towards the trash barrel and sometimes she misses it entirely. The sink, ultimately is emptied of dirty dishes.

The New Maid is content to bake a cake! There in the center of the kitchen she places many boxes of ingredients for making cake batter. Corn Starch, flour, eggs, baking soda, oil, confectioners sugar, rainbow sprinkles, whip cream, 2 big bowls and an electric mixer. She opens all boxes and begins tossing together an unmeasured mix of powders, oils, and colorful ingredients.

There is a flurry of flour flying floating throughout the air. There seems to be no organization, no order of which any edible baked cake would be born of this chaotic sloppy creation.

Tinto is watching and really holding back from questioning the outcome of this ordeal.  He is shaking his head in disbelief and awe at the Crazy and Sexy scene.  He is entertained for sure.

Her sweet good natured smile brightens the room and your heart as she pours the batter into the cake pan. Gracefully opens the oven door to slide in the cake pan. She half rubs/claps her hands to free herself of the task she has completed thus far.

The kitchen is a righteous MESS. Powder and food lay everywhere it should and shouldn’t be.

There’s time before the cake is done. The timer for the oven is set to 45 minutes. She ponders for a second with her arms crossed. She looks up and gets an idea! (light bulb appears and glows above her head) She’ll use this time wisely as she waits for the cake to rise.
